I've always been interested in Vietnam War history, so visiting Cu Chi was already on my list. This tour made the experience even better because the journey there was part of the adventure. Crawling through the tunnels really gave me a new appreciation for what people lived through. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable without making it feel like a lecture. I'd definitely recommend this version over the standard bus tour.
My friends took the regular bus tour while I booked this one... and omg I'm sooo glad I did. They spent ages sitting in traffic while I was relaxing on the river with snacks and beautiful scenery. We all arrived at roughly the same time anyway lol. The tunnels were super interesting and lunch by the riverside was delicious. Easily one of my favorite experiences in Vietnam.
This didn't feel like a typical group tour at all. There were only around a dozen of us, so everything felt much more personal and relaxed. The speedboat was modern, comfortable and gave us fantastic views along the Saigon River. Exploring the tunnels was fascinating, but I also enjoyed learning about the hidden trapdoors and ventilation system. Big shoutout to Robert at Halong Bay Cruises for helping us choose this tour. Good recommendation!
Honestly, I booked this tour just because of the boat :) and I have zero regrets. Watching Ho Chi Minh City slowly disappear while cruising along the river was such a relaxing way to start the morning. Cu Chi itself was incredible and our guide explained everything really well. The cassava tasting was a nice little surprise too. If you're deciding between this and the normal road trip... go with the boat. You'll thank yourself later.
I've done enough HCMC bus tours while traveling, so getting to Cu Chi by speedboat sounded wayyy more interesting. Turns out it was the best part of the days in Vietnam. Cruising along the Saigon River was peaceful and we completely skipped the crazy traffic leaving the city. The tunnels were fascinating, especially crawling through the underground passages. Huge thanks to Robert from Halong Bay Cruises for recommending this tour over the regular bus option. Def worth paying a little extra.

Sophie Walker,
NewZealandI kept seeing videos comparing the bus tour and the speedboat tour, and the boat just looked sooo much nicer. It absolutely lived up to the hype. Small group, comfy seats, great guide, lovely river views and an amazing historical experience once we reached Cu Chi. The optional shooting range was fun, but honestly the speedboat ride was my favorite part. Thanks again to Robert from Halong Bay Cruises for organizing everything so smoothly. I'd book with him again in a heartbeat.
