The Cu Chi Tunnels half-day tour is one of the most popular options for travelers joining day trips from Ho Chi Minh to explore historical sites outside the city. This Cu Chi Tour from Ho Chi Minh is operated with service standards from Halong Bay Cruises, expanding their experience from cruise tourism to cultural land tours in Vietnam.
The Cu Chi Tunnels tour takes visitors from Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi District, where the underground tunnel system played an important role during the Vietnam War. This experience is often included in a wider Ho Chi Minh City tour itinerary for international visitors.
Travelers move from urban areas to the rural countryside before reaching the tunnel site. A documentary explains the history and construction of the tunnels. Visitors then explore underground areas including living quarters, storage rooms, and command zones. A short tunnel walk is included to experience real underground conditions.
Cassava and tea are served as a traditional wartime snack. An optional shooting range activity is available at extra cost.

Joined the morning slot and it was honestly a good choice because the weather wasn’t too harsh. Everything ran on time from pickup to drop-off, which I appreciated. The intro video set the scene nicely before we walked around. The tunnels themselves are short but still give you a real sense of what it was like. What surprised me most was how physical the experience feels compared to just reading about it. The guide explained things in a relaxed way, not overloaded with facts. Overall a good half-day break from the city.
Booked this with my husband and Tbh we almost skipped it because we thought it might be too touristy, but So glad we didn’t. Everything felt way more real and meaningful than expected. The tunnel area has this quiet but intense vibe that stays with you. Going inside was a bit stressful at first but also kind of fun once you get used to it. The guide told stories that made it easy to imagine how people lived there. We didn’t rush at all and just took everything in slowly. Simple things like tea and cassava at the end somehow made it even better.
We booked this last minute with two friends because we had a free morning in Ho Chi Minh City. Didn’t really know what to expect, but it ended up being way more engaging than we thought. The tunnels are the highlight for sure, especially crawling through even a short section. It’s small, hot, and a bit claustrophobic, but that’s what makes it real. The guide was funny so it never felt too heavy even though the topic is serious. Hidden doors and old living spaces were wild to see up close. Pretty solid mix of learning and experience.
Went with my parents and I was a bit worried it might be too much for them, but it was actually really manageable. Pickup was on time and the whole drive was chill. My dad was surprisingly into the documentary which made me laugh a bit. Walking around the tunnels felt unreal, like you know the story but seeing it in real life hits different. Some parts are narrow but we didn’t feel rushed at all. The guide kept checking in and explaining things in a simple way. Overall just a calm but meaningful half-day out of the city.
We didn’t expect much when booking this with my girlfriend, but it turned out way more interesting than we thought. The ride from the city was smooth and everything felt pretty well organized. When we got there, the guide made everything easy to understand, not boring at all. Going inside the tunnels was kinda crazy, super tight and dark but also eye-opening. We tried a short section and yeah, it gets uncomfortable fast but that’s the point. The documentary at the start actually helped more than expected. Ending with cassava and tea was simple but felt right somehow.

Isabella Rossi,
ItalyWent with my best friend, and we were both like “ok let’s just try this,” and it ended up being one of the most interesting things we did in Vietnam. The place feels simple, but the story behind it is really heavy once you’re there. Crawling inside the tunnel was a bit uncomfortable ngl, but also kinda unforgettable. The guide was super friendly and made everything easy to follow without rushing. The hidden trapdoors were honestly the coolest part for me. Even the small snack at the end felt like part of the experience. Really glad we added this to our trip.
