Two nights. Two completely different ways to sleep in Sapa.
This 3-day Sapa tour from Hanoi gives you the best of both worlds: one night sleeping in a real Dzay family home in Ta Van village, deep in the Muong Hoa Valley — and one night in a comfortable hotel in Sapa Town, where a hot shower and a proper bed feel like the greatest luxury on earth after a full day of trekking.
Across three days, you'll trek through three distinct ethnic minority communities — Black H'mong at Lao Chai, Dzay at Ta Van, and Red Dzao at Giang Ta Chai — and finish with the classic Cat Cat village walk on Day 2 afternoon. It's the most complete Sapa trekking experience we offer, with enough free time built in to actually breathe the mountain air rather than just rush through it.
06:00–06:30: Welcome at Hanoi bus station. Board the sleeping bus and depart north toward Lao Cai. Settle in — it's a 6-hour journey, so get comfortable.
07:30–11:45: Travel northwest along the expressway toward Lao Cai City with one comfort break en route.
11:45–13:00: The bus climbs the mountain road from Lao Cai to Sapa. Watch the lowland plains give way to terraced hillsides and cloud-filled valleys.
13:00: Arrive Sapa Town (1,600m above sea level). Welcome drink and tour briefing from your guide. Lunch with local Vietnamese dishes. Drop large bags at the hotel storage — you carry only a daypack to the homestay.
14:15: Short drive to Y Linh Ho. Begin the 9km trek through the Muong Hoa Valley: along the Muong Hoa Stream through open rice terrace fields, into Lao Chai (Black H'mong village), and on to Ta Van village in the late afternoon. Trek: ~9 km · ~3.5 hours
17:45:Check in at the homestay with your Dzay host family in Ta Van. Meet the family, watch the sunset over the valley, and join in cooking the evening meal using ingredients from the family garden. Eat together. In the evening, the village bar nearby is a good place to meet other travellers

11:00: Trek ends at Giang Ta Chai Bridge. The bus picks up the group and returns to Sapa Town.
12:00–14:00: Welcome drink at the hotel. Lunch with local Vietnamese dishes. Hotel check-in — hot shower, proper bed, Wi-Fi. Take a breath.
14:30: Walk down to Cat Cat village — a Black H'mong settlement in the valley below Fansipan Peak. Walk the path through the village, down to the waterfall and old French hydroelectric station, then back up. The driver picks up at the top. Trek: ~2.5 km · ~2 hours
