I've visited quite a few places in Southeast Asia and sometimes "local experience" just means lots of souvenir shops. This tour was completely different. We visited real workshops, chatted with local families and cycled through villages where daily life carried on as usual. Our guide answered every question with genuine passion. It felt like visiting the Mekong rather than simply looking at it.
Not gonna lie... I almost skipped the Mekong Delta because I thought it'd be boring. I'm sooo glad I didn't. The little sampan ride through the canals felt like something straight out of a movie. Lunch at the garden house was delicious, and making Vietnamese dishes ourselves made the meal even more memorable. Everything felt relaxed instead of rushed, which I really appreciated.
Tbh I thought this would just be another boat trip. Nope. Every stop felt different. We watched local families making coconut candy, wandered around fruit orchards, learned to cook Vietnamese food and even cycled through tiny village roads where kids kept waving at us lol. It never felt touristy. The whole day was super chill and authentic. Big thanks to Robert from Halong Bay Cruises for suggesting Cai Be over the more crowded Mekong tours.

Ryan Collins,
United StatesUsually I don't write reviews lol, but this one deserves it. From the first boat ride to the last bike ride, the day just kept getting better. There wasn't a single moment where I felt bored. I even ended up buying some coconut candy to bring home after seeing how it was made. If you're looking for something that's genuinely different from the typical city tours, book this. Thanks again to Robert from Halong Bay Cruises for pointing us toward Cai Be instead of the busier routes.
