Three days. Five destinations. Two comfortable hotel nights.
This 3-day Sapa hotel tour from Hanoi is the most complete introduction to the region available at this price point. You get the classic village trekking experience — Cat Cat on Day 1, the full Lao Chai–Ta Van route on Day 2 — plus something most shorter tours skip entirely: a scenic morning on Day 3 driving up to Tram Ton Pass (Heaven Gate), Vietnam's highest mountain road, followed by the Silver Waterfall and a visit to a high-altitude salmon farm.
Two nights in the same comfortable Sapa hotel means no repacking mid-tour. All meals, entrance tickets, a professional English-speaking guide, and return sleeping bus transport are included. This is the tour for travellers who want to see Sapa properly — not tick a box.
06:00–06:30: Welcome at Hanoi bus station. Board the sleeping bus and depart north toward Lao Cai. Settle in for the 6-hour journey.
07:30–11:45: Travel northwest along the expressway to Lao Cai City with one comfort break en route.
11:45–13:00: The bus climbs the mountain road from Lao Cai to Sapa. Terraced hillsides, cloud-filled valleys, and the first sights of the highland landscape through the windows.
13:00: Arrive Sapa Town. Welcome drink and tour briefing from your guide. Lunch with local Vietnamese dishes. Hotel check-in.
14:30: Walk to Cat Cat village — a Black H'mong settlement in the valley at the foot of Fansipan Peak. Your guide introduces you to the community's daily life: traditional weaving, silversmithing, and subsistence farming. Trek down to the valley floor and the waterfall, where a French-era hydroelectric station still stands in partial ruin. Short stop for photos at the bridge, then trek back uphill as the afternoon light catches the terraced hillsides. The driver picks up at the top. Trek: ~2.5 km · 2 hours
16:30: Return to Sapa Town. Free time before dinner. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.

07:00–07:45: Breakfast at hotel. Pack a light daypack — leave large luggage at the hotel.
08:00: Short drive to Y Linh Ho. Begin the 9km trek through the Muong Hoa Valley — along the Muong Hoa Stream through cascading rice terrace fields, with the Hoang Lien Son mountain range rising above. Enter Lao Chai, a Black H'mong village, where your guide explains the community's history and traditions. Continue south to Ta Van, home of the Dzay people, arriving in late morning. Trek: ~9 km · ~4 hours
11:30: Pick up by bus at Ta Van Bridge. Drive back to Sapa Town.
12:00: Lunch at a local restaurant. Free afternoon — explore Sapa Town's market, find a viewpoint café, browse H'mong textiles, or rest at the hotel. Dinner in Sapa.

06:00–08:00: Breakfast at hotel. Meet your guide.
08:00: Depart Sapa Town for a 12km scenic drive up to Tram Ton Pass — Vietnam's highest mountain road at approximately 1,900m above sea level. The pass road climbs through cloud forest and offers increasingly dramatic views with each bend. At the top: Heaven Gate (Cong Troi), a panoramic viewpoint across the Hoang Lien Son mountain range — on clear days you can see for extraordinary distances. Then descend slightly to visit Thac Bac (Silver Waterfall) — a 200m cascade at the base of the pass, most powerful after rain. Finish with a visit to a high-altitude salmon farm, where cold mountain spring water makes Atlantic salmon farming possible in the tropics — a fascinating and unexpected stop.
12:00–13:00: Return to Sapa Town. Freshen up at hotel (shower available after checkout). Lunch in Sapa. Time at leisure to explore the market or buy souvenirs.
13:30: Meet the group at hotel. Prepare for departure.
14:00: Board the bus for the return journey to Hanoi with two comfort breaks.
20:30–21:00: Arrive Hanoi bus station. Tour ends. Safe travels.
